Plant Food

Nitrogen

By applying FTi-7, the various Nitrogen fixing bacteria will carry out Nitrogen fixation from the air and the soil. Organic Nitrogen is replenished in the soil after each harvest when plant matter and decaying plant matter is turned into humus thereby creating a simultaneous organic regeneration cycle in the soil.

Phosphorus

Phosphate is taken up by plants from soils, utilized by animals that consume plants, and returned to soils as organic residues decay in soils. Much of the phosphate used by living organisms becomes incorporated into organic compounds. When plant materials are returned to the soil, this organic phosphate will slowly be released as inorganic phosphate or be incorporated into more stable organic materials and become part of the soil organic matter. The release of inorganic phosphate from organic phosphates is called mineralization and is caused by microorganisms breaking down organic compounds. The activity of microorganisms is highly influenced by soil temperature and soil moisture. The process is most rapid when soils are warm and moist but well drained. Phosphate can potentially be lost through soil erosion and to a lesser extent to water running over or through the soil. Essentially FTi-7 contains PSB (Phosphate Solubizing Bacteria which fixes the renewable organic Phosphate into inorganic form which is taken up by the plant. Therefore, the phosphate is constantly renewed in the soil as the organic residues decay in the soil. The use of chemical fertilizers on the other hand destroys these beneficial PSB and thus the available phosphate is not used by plants because they are still in their organic forms.

Potassium

Sources of potassium include dead plant material, manure, compost, granite dust, greensand, and seaweed (Algae - Spirulina Platensis). FTi-7 converts the potassium found in dead plant material especially after each harvest where the dead plant material is rotavated together with the soil. Therefore, the potassium is constantly renewed in the soil as the organic dead plant matter decays in the soil and is converted to inorganic form by the bacteria present in FTi-7, which multiplies in the soil and fixes the potassium to inorganic form to be taken up by the plants.
